proHolz Kärnten, the association for the entire Carinthian forestry and timber industry, has a new chairman. Following in the footsteps of Leopold Schnaubelt, who unfortunately passed away last year far too early, the managing partner of weinberger-holz, Johann Alfred Weinberger (43), has now taken over this obligation.
Weinberger’s training at the University of Applied Sciences in Kuchl in forest products technology and management as well as his roots in forestry and the timber processing industry are the ideal requirements to represent all of the industry’s interests as chairman of the association.
His goals include promoting timber technology in Carinthia and strengthening the image of the timber industry as an attractive employer. “Carinthia still relies far too little on wood, particularly in public buildings. We will continue working on encouraging the use of wood as an ecological building material,” emphasises Weinberger.
