The natural material wood joins up with motor sports in two different ways at this years’ Lavanttal-Rallye on 6 and 7 April in the Wolfsberg district (Carinthia, Austria). On the one hand, wood in the shape of trees forms the fantastic backdrop, as every year, for high-speed motor sports. And on the other, it is the material of choice of Weinberger, the main sponsor of this race in the Austrian National Championship.
In search of a main sponsor for the 42th edition of this Carinthian motor sports event, it was logical that the organisers should approach a traditional company from Carinthia. Due to the fact that the two managing directors of the company are ardent fans of technology and motor sports, Weinberger took over the sponsorship for the Lavanttal Rallye. Both father Johann Josef Weinberger and son Johann Alfred Weinberger were and still are active in motor sports. Johann Josef Weinberger: “I competed in races myself between 1974 and the end of the 1990ies. But only on two wheels in enduro and trial races, for example in the Enduro National Championships. Nowadays I only get on a bike as a hobby. But I do so on a regular basis.”
MSC Lavanttal Chairman Horst Nadles on the cooperation: “We are delighted that we were able to win a strong local partner as the main sponsor for this year’s Lavanttal Rallye, one with whom we can realise this international motor sports highlight together.”
