The newly designed evaluation station at the Abtenau factory has not only improved Weinberger’s quality control, but also the workplace comfort for the staff employed there. Time was of the essence when planning and realising this investment in the future.
‘More haste, less speed’ is an approach that at first glance seems rather unusual for the industrial production of wooden products. On closer inspection, however, it quickly becomes apparent that more time for the trained eye of our experienced employees in quality assurance is more than worthwhile – just like the support provided by modern X-ray technology and artificial intelligence when it comes to mechanical strength testing. Since the redesign of the evaluation station, the workpieces move past the sorter transversely on a sorting wheel. Buffer sections before and after the sorting station keep unwanted stop-and-go situations to a minimum, ensuring a smooth and even process flow. As a result, we now get even more out of every inspected plank for each customer, and at the same time we offer our employees an even better working environment for their important work.
